Subtle Mind/Loving Kindness Practices

Loving Kindness practice opens the heart, diminishes self centerness, heals and allows us to flourish.  It is the first step in psychospiritual development and leads to witnessing, calm abiding and unity consciousness.  It helps with peace, clarity, silence, timelessness and interconnectedness with others.  We can practice loving kindness throughout our lifetime.

The Subtle Mind practice is deeper and helps to open the mind.  It tames the moving mind which we must quiet and reduce our thoughts to still the mind and allow for healing to occur.

Both practices take work and practice that is why they are known as "mental work outs" but the benefits are worth the time spent pursuing the goal of changing health and life.

  1. Rosie, definitely a mental workout I would say. I would also say it will take lots and lots of practice for me. I just can't find the way to make my mind stay focus. Maybe I am trying too hard and not relaxing. I do feel though that we must learn the love and kindness to take with us throughout life.

  2. Hi Rosie! I liked the subtle mind exercise better. According to Dacher(2006) when we try to to direct or focus the mind, it is not long before it is drawn back to our mental chatter. This is how the untrained mind works. With practice, we learn how to stop the mind's tendency to cling to random movements. The subtle mind exercise will help us do this. This to me is mentle fitness. Hopefully, with practice we can be successful.
